PAUL - BASS GUITAR & BACKING VOCALS
Paul ‘Norm’ Haines
Obituary
Paul was born under a wandering star in Wolverhampton circa 1960 and learned to play guitar
pretty soon after that. He was a member of various bands through his teens until he met Steve ‘the knacker’ Jack in 1978. Steve’s band Gasoline had become dull and tired and needed a boost so Paul was the obvious choice.
playing all the instruments and got to No 1 on soundclick.com under the artist name of Seniah with a song called Bad Day before that other
Soon after that the band split
up. Paul has always maintained that he had no involvement in this break up.
Paul worked with Steve at FSR Studios and became a member of Media (again with Steve) moving on to Cut Throat Jake (with Steve) building a considerable following through the 80’s.
Paul had a bit of a break (20 yrs) when he wrote and recorded some songs
bloke did it.
Steve was becoming depressed as he hadn’t seen Paul in such a long time so Paul helped him start Remnants as a kind of occupational therapy. Remnants turned into a pretty good thing so Paul left.
A few charity gigs with the Demons of Tune, a 13 piece Birmingham band
gave Paul the bug again so he joined a Rock blues band ‘Calling Card’ and was
then asked to stand in (by Steve, yes him again!!) for the absent rhythm guitarist with Showaddywaddy Elite.
Paul accepted, loved it and joined.
Paul has since taken over on BASS GUITAR after the departure of Bernard Beddard.
