SHOWADDYWADDY ELITE TRIBUTE BAND Originally formed in Spain in 2003 under the name of SHOWADDYWADDY LEGEND . The band consisted of four members who performed to backing tracks. The quartet not only performed all of the great Showaddywaddy songs, they also performed most of the original dance moves (all of which can be viewed on YOUTUBE and other media sources). In 2009 THOMAS BULL the founder of Showaddywaddy Legend decided to move back to the UK. On his return he decided to drop the name of LEGEND and call the new Tribute band SHOWADDYWADDY ELITE. For the first 3 years SHOWADDYWADDY ELITE would remain as a four piece with new members COLIN KNIGHT, STEVE KNIGHT & LEE KNIGHT. At the beginning of 2013 Thomas and Colin had a rethink of where they wanted the band to go. After much deliberation they decided that the only way forward would be to completely drop the use of backing tracks and form a live band. After countless hours, days, weeks and months of auditioning musicians they finally found the right mix. Enter BRUCE WARD - Rhythm Guitar and Vocals, BERNI the Bass BEDDARD - Bass Guitar and Backing Vocals, STEVE JACK - Lead Guitar and Lead Vocals (STEVE is also the bands promoter), IVAN GRAHAM - Drums and Backing Vocals and Nigel - Sound Engineer. So the band was complete and for the 2 years played a number of gigs up and down the Country. Unfortunately BRUCE had to retire in 2015 and was replaced by PAUL HAYNES who was a close friend of STEVE. In 2017 BERNI had to retire due to ill health and PAUL who was originally a Bass Player stepped in to take over from BERNI leaving a place for a Rhythm Guitarist. Enter ROB FEILDING-NICHOLLS who was a friend of IVANS. ROB is a seasoned player and had no trouble fitting straight away. In 2018 PAUL called it a day which gave way to TERRY BIDDULPH. TERRY is a phenomenal Bass Player and has transformed the sound completely. In 2019 IVAN had health issues and had to retire. We now have a vacancy for a Drummer so in steps RICHARD WESTWOOD a close friend of TERRY. RICHARD isn't your typical Drummer he has a great sense of humour and along with his brilliant playing he is a joy to be around. Unfortunately in the August of 2022 Rob left the band as he had commitment issues. Enter GARY TRANTER a great guitar player, who has a unique way of playing. GARY is a another close friend of STEVE and we hope that he will stay with us for many years to come. On New years eve 2022 and out of the blue, Terry played his last gig due to other work commitments in the US, he will be missed. Welcome BARRY MALKI a brilliant Bass player who is fitting in perfectly. During all the ins and outs we replaced NIGEL our Sound & Lighting Technician with ASHLEY EDWARDS. ASH has taken us into the digital age and like everyone in the band, plays a massive part in how we sound.
